Location: Western Wisconsin / St. Paul MN Eastern suburbs New Construction: 2 x 6 wood frame construction / above grade walls ICF - Basement Walls Fox Block Wall assembly 1 = Exterior foam board 2", OSB, interior cellulose insulation **About $1,500 - $2,000 savings over wall assembly 2 (More issues with window detail & siding install) Wall assembly 2 = OSB, high density interior spray foam *More expensive -has thermal bridging , no window and siding detail issues. Anyone with real world suggestions for me, as to what assembly I should go wit? Thank You P.S. Just finished framing house today.

Usually you can go with the 2" Exterior foam without significant issues with detailing. More than that will require it.
Personally I am planning tht same wall system except using Zip panels and no house wrap. I will consider going to 4 inches of foam depending on the results of energy modeling.

Thanks for the reply Whimot, still on the fence on the direction I'm going. I was hoping someone would chime in on a real world experience, like someone who lives in a home in a cold climate w/ 2" exterior foam! Thanks Hank!!
