Anyone else notice the 100% increase in prices lately? What gives? Gas prices are down still, haven't heard much from demand but our lumber cost went up 95% from Nov.

No one here in the industry to give real reasons? Ricky, here in Houston, prices are up alot. I'm wondering if this is a trend due to season or what.

From what my local yard tells me, take or leave it.The lumber industry is concerned about President Trump increasing tariffs on Canadian Lumber brought in the U.S. This is causing a lot of grief in the whole sale lumber market.

Why did we pay $110 a barrel for oil in 2007? Oil is trading 1/2 the price now. The ones that control the supply manipulate and screw the public.

There are definitely ways to control material costs from suppliers.

I think it's a good that contractors are starting to look into cost-savings on material costs.

Really just depends who needs money in their pocket, but also depending on where your wood is coming from it may be seasonal. There's also a lot of activism going against traditional logging and that could be affecting prices. Really there are so many factors and many location dependent.
