Hy people, Laying a tin roof and can't decide weather to do ridge vent or maximum. I know the maximum is much more effective however it will put more holes in the tin and sealing all around, w/touch-ups every so often. With the ridge vent all is done and don't need as much maintenance, however the rep. I spoke to says the holes ,similar to soffit, will get clogued and lose efficiency.
Any thoughts, alternatives. Tnks.&Cheers |

I am not familar with the 'maximum' vent you mention. Could you elaborate on the product and its usage. Back in the day when I used ventilated attic space, continuous ridge vents, along with continuous soffit vents, were (and are) considered the best method of venting. I have never heard of either clogging up. And trust me, the fewer holes you put in a roof the better off you are. |

Maximum vent is a square which sticks out about two feet or so from the roof surface ,chimney like made out of tin, and vents 3 to 5 hundred square foot of attic space per vent. My thoughts were the same as yours regarding fewer holes the better. There will be soffit vents all around to help vent. |
