I help run a construction waste management company and am interested in obtainng a LEED AP with specialty, but am not sure which specialty would be appropriate for my industry. Homes? Building and construction? Any LEED APs here that could give some insight? Thanks.

I suggest you take the path that most closely describes the projects you work on. If you service commercial and multi family, then go BD+C.

There is also a new LEED Associate certification which might better suite your needs. Check it out here http://www.usgbc.org/DisplayPage.aspx?CMSPageID=2191

Are you referring to LEED Green Associate? I am just looking into all this so please excuse the ignorance. I understand that to obtain a LEED AP title one must pass the Green Associate test first (or do both at the same time).
We service residential and commercial. We have worked on LEED projects which require an AP, so I am trying to make the company more rounded. Additionally, I would like to do this anyway. Is there any sub-class that deals with construction waste management and recycling?

Yes...you are correct, the LEED Green Associate is a prerequisite for becoming an AP, although you can also do them at the same time.

To the best of my knowlege, there no subclasses of any of the LEED certifications dealing with specific areas such as waste management and recycling.

Kudos to you for taking the initiative to become an AP!

Thanks, Bruce. It ought to be interesting. I have not taken a lengthly test like this in years, and on top of that, generally do not test well. I'm stubborn enough to still give it a shot though...
