My company recently became a Magnesium Oxide board distributor. I decided to use it as a drywall board for the walls and ceiling of our new building. I am wondering what the opinions and perceptions are out there.

My perception was that it needs standards to ensure quality.

A legitimate concern for anything coming out of China these days. It is my understanding that the raw MGO is not allowed to be shipped from China. So being that the finished product must be made there, quality control is a must.

If not a national standard, at least a good US company that is testing each batch for toxicity, corrosion, strength, etc. Perhaps a company like USG (that sells gypsum wallboard).

Does it have to come from China?

I looked at it but at $50 a sheet and I still need to collect and I have to order by the pallet, well not there yet.

When I can get it from my local Builders Merchant, at a reasonable cost, maybe.
