Hi all, I am about to build a new home. I would like the home to be as "quiet" as possible (I can hear everything in my current home - the TV downstairs, people flushing, etc.). I'm planning on spray foaming the entire structure with Walltite to code standards, so roughly: ceiling without attic: R31 walls above grade: R24 basement walls: R20 After everything is sprayfoamed, would it make sense to install Roxul Safe'n'Sound on all the interior walls and between floors (basement to main floor, etc.) to add further sound deadening? I'm not sure what the cost will be, but if it is less than a few thousand that's within my budget. I want to do this right so any insight is appreciated.

This is worth reading:

The glue is expensive although some have reported that you can use much less of it than they specify and still get most of the benefit.

As we have moved away from carpeting to hardwood and stone, houses have become like echo chambers. You can insulate the walls with Safe & Sound, but you will find most of the sound transmission is through doors.
