On behalf of FS Elson Watch out for Jim Marshall and JC Marshall Construction, Merritt Island, Fl. He presented with industry references and a valid Florida GC license. He signed contracts for both plans and construction, and promised to do the whole job in 10 months. He was paid almost $70,000.00 in fees and advances. 10 months later, he still hadn't successfully pulled a permit or shown any ability to actually complete the job. He then said he wanted out, but refused to refund monies advanced. Formal complaints were filed with the State of Fla. Div. of Licensing and the Sheriffs office. He is unresponsive to communication and seems to have disappeared. Suit has been filed against him in excess of $100,000.00. Be careful about hiring him for anything. If it happened to us, it could happen to you. He may still have a license, and had pulled permits for roofing and remodeling jobs prior to screwing us. His whereabouts are currently unknown, but If he reappears, we will advise further

We too have had nothing but problems with JC Marshall Construction.  Our HOA and Management Company hired them to solve a water problem outside of our condo unit. JC Marshall started the job and work on a hit or miss basis.  The dug up the concrete and left it exposed to the rain.  The rain entered the unit causing extensive water damage.  We had to have mold remediation, new wallboard, baseboard, painting and carpeting.  The insurance company for the HOA filed a claim to have us reimbursed for the damages.  A few days ago we received a letter from JC Marshall's insurance company advising that JC Marshall stated they did not know of any project at our condo and have never done any work there.  I would tell anyone and everyone to NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE.... they are incompetent and obviously liars as our HOA has a signed contract with their company for the work.
