My hvac contractor says he has had the control boards on his ducted minisplit systems damaged by "dirty" power when a back up generator operates.  When I asked if a surge protector or UPS would clean up the power and make it safe for the electronics in the control systems he said  "maybe".  Does anyone out there have an answer or a solution to this issue ??  thanks Craig

I would expect that a good generator would have fewer power problems than utility power. In my experience, surge protectors help. Even better has been a surge protector and a voltage protector.
