We are looking at building a new home next spring and ICF's were our selection for the basement but while at the state fair I saw this system by Thermomass. Has anyone looked at or had any dealings with this type of wall system. I liked there system of having the polystyrene in the middle of the cement walls so the outside elements don't come into play with the ICF outside walls. Any help would be gratefull. Thanks.

Please do a search on this site and you will find more info. Then your questions won't be so broad, but more acute for your needs!

F7,

I looked at thermomass, by Dow, very closely. In the end with the need for forms and more important, a forming contractor to work with you system, I gave up. The ICF system may not be quite as good, but 10 X easyer. Also, a very key point is consolidation. With Thermomass, you have two walls being poured, and consolidated.

As hinted, we went with ICF instead. So far so good. Pouring soon!
