Does anyone know if there are tax deductions for using ICFs? I know you can get a deduction for using other energy efficient products such as Low-E windows and Geothermal HVAC. I am currently in the process of building my own ICF house in KY and learning alot from this forum. Thanks for all of the info.

There is a Federal tax credit for building energy efficient homes, but it's available only to contractors, not owner builders. If you have a contractor working with you he may be able to get it and give you some secondary benefit.

There's a web site that lists all the various tax benefits and rebates for energy savings projects for homes for all the states and utilities. Sorry, I don't have the URL handy and don't have time right now to look for it.

Even a retired engineer can build a house successfully w/ GBT help!
