Hello,
I have a friend who bought a house up north and he had it done with the concrete technique.  To save money he had just that part of the house completed and now is asking us who have the skills to finish it for him.  My question is do i just either rampart/remmington studding where i need to or drill and screw (tapcon) them.  Also do you frame a wall as to bring the room size down 3.5 " or can I run them flat and the guys dig out styrofoam to run what they need to run?  I ask because I am confident in what work I do and want to have a lear idea of the process before I give him my word to get it done for him.  Everything after that is pie to finish as it works the same as I am used to with wood or metal framed structures.  Thanks for any help and reasurrance to get this done for him,,, Ciao  Sean..... Does the formwork have integral studding? Do you know what brand it is?

Normally, furring out the walls is not neccessary, although some are in the stone age of ICF and still using the old Liteform methods....

Whoever did the "concrete techique" should be assisting following subs to marry to the system!

I do not know if it has integral studding? but now I know to ask that. I also do not know the brand. I do not think my friend was very involved in his home and now is lost,, Being in wasaga beach they may still be using the old but I would hope they would be up to speed with thier trade. Thanks for the information it has helped a lil. So top/bottom plates would be fastened by conrete fasteners, and walls through integral studding if present, (imagine there would be blue prints or some sort of documentation for locations and such),,and if not then what? ,, I expect that it would depend on what type of system they are using,,,, so I will try and find out what I can,,, thanks alot,, any more tips or information would be more then appreciated,,,

Find out what information you can, take digital pictures if neccessary and make them available.

My brother is south of you a couple hours in Goderich and can help tremendously, or I know a good ICF builder in Barrie also.
But "do not think my friend was very involved in his home" leads me to believe the shortage of knowledge is self inflicted, do some research on ICF and get back with us before I get my local contacts involved.
