I'm planning on building a new home east of Oxford, MS. Planning on starting mid to late spring 2008. Interested finding someone you has experience in ICF building. I'm doing an Owner Builder therefore will looking at cost very close. This is our retirement home and will be evaluating labor, materials, etc. in order to keep cost down.
Thanks for your interest. |

Research ICF dealers/distributors in your area to help you. Check manufacturers wesites for locations and referrals. |

DMB, I agree with FlaICF in researching dealers/distributors and do your research on the block that they represent. If you are going to do it yourself, make sure they walk you through the process or if not ask people in the ICF Form for help. Bracing is very important, so hopefully you will have access to some down there. Hopefully your research will get you a major block company.
Best of luck,

I have a nationwide list of ICF installers, but do you know what manufacturer you'd like to use? Some ICF contractors only install a manufacturers product that they represent as an affiliate, distributor, or dealer.
We use one block company and always try to find an installer, for owner builders we represent and help with financing to find a ICF installer, who will install our the blocks we provide. |

Not sure which ICF manufacturer I will use. I've checked out FoxBlocks, ECO Blocks & PolySteel, they each have their advantages. FoxBlocks website have their prices included, the others do not.
I plan to Owner Build but will sub out most of the work. If you have any names & phone numbers of contractors, I would appreciate your passing them on to me. It appears that many Mississippi contractors will travel several miles for a job.
Also, any additional advise you can offer will be accepted with great appreciation.
Thanks,
DMB |

I represent a manufacture of a very competitively priced icf form that we get to market by selling directly to builders, thereby eliminating middle men. Despite being priced below most forms on the market, tests have proven our form superior to most forms on the market and our furring strips and ties are proven to be stronger than any forms on the market. The end result is that you can get a home built with probably the overall best form on the market for a very competitive price. We happen to have a builder in Mississippi that I can put you in touch with if you are not already commited to someone.
If you would like me to do so, please let me know and how best to get in contact with you. If it is through this site, that is fine but if you would prefer to be called or emailed directly, please give me the best way to contact you.

Check out Reddi-Wall.com
They don't have a fifty thousand dollar website but the have a well thought out system which is both easy to use and engineered very well. As an owner builder you should be able to purchase the block for considerably less then any of the fore mentioned blocks.
With its unique interlocking design it also helps to eliminate some of the problems an inexperienced person might encounter. Each run of blocks is castled like most other ICF's but is also complimented with a steel band which locks the tops and bottoms of each sucessive course together. Once erected vertical steel channel is placed (10" in center) effectively locking the entire wall system together.
They have always been fair and honest with me and are always willing to help. Best of Luck.

I priced it out to be about 3.666 per sqft for the ICF and concrete, concrete at 100 dollars a yard and ICF at 44 dollars for a 8' long 18" high piece, you mileage may very but this was my estimate |
