someone metioned Isorast earlier. check out these projects. SCC combined with DIY. most people around here would say - perfect recepe for disaster. they (germans) do not think so. my question is: is isorast system so much better that Amvic or Integraspec or any other good system or our contractors fear the unknown?

I have a concrete processing question:

At the site Adi provided, the first home had the walls filled by concrete mixed on demand from a silo located on site.  But, when they did the ceilings, they trucked in the concrete and pumped it up.

Why?
What is the advantage of the silo system?
Given that they had a silo on site, why then truck in concrete?

Thanks in advance for any insights that you can offer.

Very respectfully,
Larry

The walls are being filled with an SCC concrete through a line pump directly from the silo. The line pump is about 2" or even slightly less. The SCC is quite fluid and is being pumped in a slow manner.

The ceiling deck is poured with regular concrete (B25 - 5000psi). As you can see in the pictures the delivery of the concrete is a lot faster.

So, the line pump would be slow and there is only SCC product in the silo.
