Hi,

I'm a student at a local community college here in West Valley City, Utah. We are assigned a project to build a house from ground up using AutoCad 2009. Anyways, to my question I trying to find out the my local building requirements for my FPSF foundation i.e. depth and width of footing, I know the actual slab needs to be 4", but I can't find the information I am needing. I looking in the IRC 2006 Residental code book and look at West Valley City, Ut website but I can't locate the information.

Any help will be appriciated.

Thanks

Speedy,
Not your local rqmts but many online sources for Frost Protected Shallow Foundations.

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/fpsf/
www.huduser.org/publications/destech/frostprt.html
www.dow.com/styrofoam/na/agtherm/app/frost.htm
http://faculty.weber.edu/jlplant/courses/Cmt1210/Lecture/Fall07/shallowpour.pdf

http://www.cdcutah.org/technology.html

The last source might be able to guide you, Good luck, Dave

Nudura has produced drawings/details for shallow footings, they are general detail and need to be reviewed and approved by an engineer and the local building jurisdiction
