Does anybody know of an example of a respected architect who chose to build an affordable residence of any kind with ICFs?

Debra Rucker Coleman

Why do you ask? Most any plan can be converted to ICF or vice versa.

I'm doing a book on architects and builders using prefab building systems– including ICFs – to achieve sustainabiliy, i.e.green building.

Ah. She's more of a passive solar gal, but ICF and SIP are both in her toolbag.

Thanks. The question doesn't require expertise, it's just a matter of random knowledge.

For pre-fabbing using ICF's please take a look at this video:

Hello DebTF. The link you are referring shows the prefabricated forms not the finished wall.

The ICF is the concrete form. The concrete itself is cast in place. There is some sort of related to ICF work that it may be considered prefabricated and that is "tilt up walls" using Insulated Decking (like the ones from "insul deck" and "quad-deck").

Thanks to everyone responding but I know what an ICF is and how construction with them works.
I'm defining ICF construction as a "prefab" or at least "alternative" building system compared to standard stick for my purposes.

I am looking for an example of residential design design by an architect which was then built. Thanks.

Which one of the residential projects is it, the one on Clayton?

Even a retired engineer can build a house successfully w/ GBT help!
