We are building with ARXX.  My builder just used some kind of membrane that says ICE and Water shield on it.  He used it along the bottom layer of ICF blocks and overlapped it onto the exposed footings.  He then used a hard dimpled black material on top of the membrane to go up the wall.  We are in a high water table area.  My question is would there be anything in the ice and water shield material that would damage the ICF foam block material?  I am concerned about any asphalt material in the membrane.

If you also have a good perimeter drain it sounds like the contractor is doing things right.

You should also know that you can't really trust internet forums to always give you the correct answer.

kiwi23, your builder is doing the same thing that I do. Ice and Water first, which is a "peel and stick" waterproof membrane and then the bubble wrap over top. Sounds like he knows what he is doing. I would not worry.
Two responses, both agree. Hope that reasures you.

Are you talking about Grace Ice and Water Shield?  It is similar to materials that are approved for that use.  However, the manufacture doesn't list sub grade use of the product as appropriate.  Grace specifies Ice and Water Shield as a roofing underlayment rather than a sub grade water proofing.   See http://www.graceathome.com/pages/roofingprod.htm for details.

Good luck,
Bruce
