We are planning a two story house. The external walls on first floor and the external walls of the second floor are different. The external wall of the second floor is about 15 feet inside the first floor. How do we use ICF's for both the walls?
Thanks.

IF you decide to use ICFs for the second floor walls, you will need a structural engineer to determine how to support that inside wall load. It's not as simple as a couple of 2x12s with some 4" CF Posts.

I can't imagine a reason for using ICF for second floor walls in this situation. The structural requirements to hold these walls in position will an extraordinary expense. Change the plans or use SIPS for the second floor walls.

Thanks Wes. That is a good suggestion. I am also looking at using SIPs for roof.
