On an ICF build home (everything but the roof), is there specific 'method' to sealing the windows and the doors so that they are %100 efficient? How do I ensure that my contractor does it right, the first time besides telling him to make sure its right? Sorry about more dumb questions. I just wanna make sure I know what Im talking about when we meet. Thanks.

Lots and lots of silicone caulk and low expanding foam. Start by caulking the nailing fin attachment to the window unit. Then a heavy bead of caulk between the nailing fin and the buck. Then go inside and foam or caulk everything.

Insulation values of ICF walls varies depending on material and its thickness. However,ICF walls are designed as reinforced concrete, having high wind and seismic resistance!

Here's GBT thread on the subject  http://www.greenbuildingtalk.com/Fo...fault.aspx

Freakboy mentions using flashing bent at some angle and inserted into a groove or kerf cut at a like angle into the foam above the window buck.  I spoke with a Tyvek expert at the Home Builder's Show back in 2010, who confirmed that's what he does.  Be sure flashing extends a foot beyond each side of the window and covers the header flashing tape.  This will work for windows mounted flush to the exterior plane.
