When parging with Prep Coat B2000 or Grailcoat, can you lap over the top edge of the peel-and-stick and/or dimple mat? Without overlapping a bit, I can't see how water wouldn't get behind the membranes. Will the acrylic stuccos stick to these products like they stick to the EPS of the ICFs?

And if they do stick to the peel-and-stick membrane, what do you think about running the peel-and-stick all the way up to the rim joist and overlapping it with the building housewrap?

Is the peel-and-stick typically run higher than the dimple mat?

I can't speak about the peel and stick membrane, but the Platon system uses a 'Speedstrip' that holds the top edge of the dimple board flush with the foam. From there you lay your metal lath overlapping a couple of inches and apply your B2000.

If water gets behind your "peel and stick" it has no way of getting out. It will follow the path of least resistance... usually re- appearing in the wrong places .
To me it is a total waste of money :-(

Air Gap provides a positive drainage path to the footings,so if water gets behind it, it travels down to the footing drainage system.

Mesh and prep coat can hang over the top edge of your membranes only 2 inches or so, as most peel and sticks/membranes have smooth faces.

"Senerflash" is the only p & s that i know of that you can stucco directly over as it has a fuzzy facing.

Cheers.

Running the parging over a peel and stick in not a problem, best done below grade. Some synthetic stucco coatings are waterproof on there own. Overlapping an air gap membrane doesn't' work out so well. Many water-proofing membranes say in there directions to start 6" below grade.
