Todd, You're taking this thread off track a bit and I am guilty of taking the bait. Here is the link that I suggested to you above. In so many words, ASHRAE's report says that a mass wall with a given R-value performs better than a low mass wall with a higher R-value. Read it and comment there or start a new thread.

To settle this once and for all, why doesn't the ICF industry or Nudura just come out with a 3rd part report/study on this and settle it?
Unfortunately until then, this will be a debated issue.
I believe that there is some thermal mass benefit of an ICF home, that I don't doubt. The amount of thermal mass benefit is what is up in the air. I also believe that having the mass exposed to the interior is a better design (SCIP) when it comes to thermal mass vs. having it sandwiched between two layers of EPS.
