Install a complete course at a time, I use 1/4" plywood ripped into 4" strips to diaphragm it together, be prepared to make adjustments a few times on the first couple of courses, once these are perfect the rest goes easy and plumb. once done I diaphragm the inside as well with same strips of plywood, install braces and it remains stable for the pour. That's my preferred method, I am sure there are others. I have seen people use just foam and tape, with the block being manipulated so much I get concerned over strength when concrete is placed.
