How are they holding up? Meaning, directly applied to the EPS, no underlayment of any sort.

I give. Is this a trick question since these coating have been used for almost 35 years?

Yeah, and some of them are pretty crappy, too.
I'm removing one with the stucco product applied to a mesh sheet underlayment, and I'd like to use one with trowel-on mesh; no metal, lath, synthetic or fiberglass mesh, bead board, etc, underlayment. Just asking how they hold up applied directly to the form surface.
And thanks for the superior attitude.

It's best to rough up the surface bit with a rasp. But it's pretty basic stuff and if applied according to instructions, all the good ones work quite well.

Thanks, Ray. I'm a little cautious since removing this stuff is a lot of trouble.

Sto, Dryvit, Total Wall are some that I've used with no problems. The details areas are important and as Ray said I always rasp, since new icf's have a skin on them form the molding process

Thanks very much. I believe I'll go with the Total Wall. I got it all cleaned up, reminded me of peeling sunburn. Gross.
