I have a QL dealer / contractor very close to my new build. I'm doing radiant floor heating, so ICF floor looks better and better.
I see Quad-Lock mentioned a lot and seems to be well received. Just want to see what the vibe is with this brand of ICF.
This dealer/ contractor would install the forms, so an experienced crew.
Thanks- |

Don't neglect the Quad-Deck flooring system. It's great for radiant and adds tremendous strength to ICF wall construction. |

Thanks- I'm looking at the Quad-Deck also. Just looking to see if Quad-Lock is the product or some other ICF |

You are putting the cart before the horse. What you need to find a local contractor who is well-versed in ICFs. Then find out what forms they used & recommend.
QuadDeck is the same thing as InsulDeck. Same form, just different names.
Is this a DIY job?

Thanks Lbear. I mentioned I have a Quad-Lock dealer / installer very nearby. Local and experienced pro install. That's two big points as you say. I guess I'm wondering how much more I should shop beyond Quad-Lock & Quad-Deck and what might I look at. Given the radiant floor the Q-Deck looks worth taking a look at. Not sure if other foundation systems incorporate concrete floors so easily. Thanks again. |

I guess I'm wondering how much more I should shop beyond If you have an experienced installer, I just don't think you can go too wrong with any of the mainstream ICF products. My architect geared me up to use Logix but then the subcontractor ended up using Arxx, and nearly nothing seemed to have changed. What's more important is having trades (electric, plumbing, HVAC) that are experienced with the ICF. You will want to take recommendations on them from the ICF installer. |

Yeah, It seems it's more about the crew than the ICF brand... |

You are in great hands as I assume the dealer you are referring to is Mike H. They have been working with us for a long time and completed some amazing and complex projects. |

Talked to Mike. Maybe it's because I'm a female, but he was the most condescending jerk on the planet. Mr. Know it All, tells you what to do, on and on. I appreciate candid discussion, but he needs to take some interpersonal communication skills courses. I cannot deal with a contractor who speaks down to a client. Good luck with Quad Lock, I moved on to another ICF company. |
