I just finished my first basement pour and now an ready to install the membrane.  I am using colphene 3000 as per my icf supplier.  what do I need on my footings to get the membrane to adhere to it?  I cleaned off the walls/footings with a pressure washer as the footing were poured many months ago.  They are nice and clean now.  What is the recommended coating to put on the bare cement?  I am thinking that there is a tar like precoat needed.  What is the norm?  I have googled and cant seem to find anything.

I used a wide heavy duty putty knife / paint scraper to spread TAMKO TWM-1 mastic in the 3 gallon pail over the top of my exposed concrete footings prior to installing the TAMKO TW-60 Sheet Waterproofing Membrane. It worked great.  This is the same mastic that was used to seal the seams and edges of my waterproofing membrane.

Per the Colphene installation manual, they reference similar products as "Colphene Liquid Membrane, Sopramastic SM‐1, SBS Mastic, or SBS Elastic Cement"

WascoSeal, sold at most concrete suppliers, comes in 18" rolls, we use acoustical sealant as well on the underside of membrane...good luck with the rebar dowels though!this is for the capillary barrier i guess, right?

I don't think so.  He has already completed the wall pour.  My interpretation was that this was for the waterproofing membrane on the exterior of the ICF foam.  This sheet waterproofing membrane also extends over the top of the footing and then extends down a couple of inches below the top of the footing.  He was looking for something to provide good adhesion between the waterproofing membrane and the top of the concrete footing which is seldom left with a smooth finish.

Yes the pour is complete as of last Wednesday. Mostly successful. Came out pretty good for a first attempt. I have a peel/stick membrane (colphene) for the wall but the footing wont allow it to stick. Locally i have found a product called aqua-bloc, its a rubberized waterproofer for ICF and cement. I also have found another product here called blue seal that is basically the same.

Have the drain tile and rock and fabric all ready to go in just need to get this footing to wall sealed up and Im good to go.
Thanks

i know that we have to use a primer for the peel-n-stick and it does stick to the footer as well, not sure what system you are using, we also use drain board tied into the drain tile.
good luck
