Was wondering about putting geothermal hoses about 2 feet under my basement floor. We plan on building a 1800sqft house with a full basement. Were located in west michigan. Was looking to save money this way. Is this a good or bad idea?

You might get more interest in the "geothermal" section.
There are applications of geo loops under the foundation, but usually they are vertical.
Without knowing your heat loss/gain, I don't know that you could fit enough horizontal loop under your home.
On top of that because heat goes to cold, you could actually drawheat from your basement (I know one kook who suggests this is an advantage). To mitigate that you would want to install 2" foam under the slab at loosely $1/SF. Coincidentally excavating 2 or three trenches is less than $1,000.

1 story or two? Where at in West MI. We have clients all over MI.
You are likely to be in the neighbor hood of a 3 ton if you are using code minimum insulation, but could likely get that down to a 2 ton if real care is taken to build a tight home.

Since you have indeed asked the same question on multiple forums and sub categories I suggest we let this thread pass and converse elsewhere.
