Hi everyone this is my first post, thanks in advance for your time. I am hoping to build an addition (about 550 sqf). I have a very small bankroll and cannot afford a pro so I will need to do everything myself. I want to do a frost wall foundation. I had considered surface bonded block but then thought ICFs might be better but I know very little about them. Is a frost wall a good application? Is there a type that are best for DIY? Where should I start? Local building suppliers or online? I am in VT Thanks so much! Gerry

As a test I poured a 12x12 frost wall addition with my mono pour system last fall. I didn't know if it was possible but it worked great. We poured the footing and walls directly from a cement truck, which save on pump charges. For comparison sake I just sold a 12x18 addition mono pour, frost wall system for around $650 in Utica NY

Here we need 40" for frost. That is two courses of Fox Blocks and the footing. We don't mono pour but we set the block in the wet footing and straighten as we go. Even if you have to pump, you can do both footing and wall in one trip.
