My projects have used both ICF and metal forms for Cast-in-Place concrete walls. But that was some time ago. Does anyone know the current difference in cost between the two systems in the southeast? I am not concerned with the R-value of ICF for an upcoming project. I need to use the lowest cost forming method for 22' tall 8" thick walls. The EPS foam of ICF's is suitable since it will be covered. I am also considering tilt-up walls and precast.

Poured wall will always be cheaper. Up here the poured walls are solid by the yards of concrete used and not by sq ft

If you aren't interested in insulating the wall or finishing the interior, you will be able to easily find a subcontractor to charge you less for the metal forms. If you're planning to fur or stud out the interior and need insulation, your cost for the traditionally formed wall should be less, but your total cost may be more. When compared head to head with similarly performing wall systems, the ICF wall is normally cheaper than traditionally formed concrete or reinforced masonry.
