Not sure if this is the proper place to ask but I have to find some help or get a push in the right direction. I was a ICF wall installer a short time ago and have stepped a way for a bit. Ever since I have been working on an idea and have designed a prototype for a footer that would make it possible to pour a wall and footing all in one pour. Just looking for suggestions.

OK, I'll bite. I am doing a big ICF castle in Oregon and poured the footing and first two courses of ICF simultaneously and it was a MPIA. I built 2 X 4 frames over every block, set them all with a laser, tied the blocks to the hangers with tie-wire and cleated them at the bottom so they did not shift sideways. I was a newbie to ICF and would never do it that way again. It was not worth the effort. BUT I can see the value in doing it that way if a better method could be contrived. What is your prototype? I am a mechanical design engineer for 35 years and develop all kinds of machinery so maybe I can help you out?

Thanks for the reply. I am a mechanical designer as well. My design is close to being complete except for minor changes I am expecting after proto is made and tested. It is fea tested already, but need to get a working model done to test further. That is what I am searching for. Ideas or connections, anything to move forward. My footer design is similar to basic ICF modules construction now days except they take care of water drainage and radon gasses.

There is an ICF builder who posts here from time to time, and I remember him saying he always pours footings and walls at the same time. Look through the recent posts; I think it may have been in the swimming pool thread.

Yes I've been pouring footers and walls mono pour for 11 years. Fab Form also has a system, as well as Key Footing Forms to name a few. I've used my system with Form-a- Drain which also takes care of drainage as well as radon.
