Hello!  I'll get right to the point.  I'm considering building a (kinda) ICF home in Upstate NY.  I would like to incorporate some passive solar and therefore am looking for concrete on the inside and insulation on the outside.  The only system I see in place like this is Nudura One.  I also see that ICF options seem to be based on which contractors are in your specific region and what do they like to install.  So, I guess I have to ask; is anyone aware of a contractor that installs either Nudura One or similar type of system in Upstate New York?  Albany area?

Thank You in advance for taking the time to read and think about this.

Build Block also has a similar product and I think it is molded at CBIS in West Brookfield Mass. They are about the finest molder of icf's that I used. Now your problem is that this product is new and probably foreign to most builders, it's going to be really hard to find someone who has used it.

I forgot TF's Transform. This allows you to install wiring and plumbing in the interior cavity with normal drywall covering it.

Thank you for your response. I'll see if I can track down a contractor for Build Block, TFSystems - I believe the elevator system?

I have a question that I should have asked before. Are you looking for the concrete interior look or are you trying for thermal mass? Is the interior going to be drywall?

Ooops, was offline for quite a while - sorry for the delayed response. I am looking for interior thermal mass (i.e. concrete). I believe there will be no drywall on the interior of the walls. Still considering different options for the interior.

Hello ONE, you are correct that NUDURA is the premium system for doing exposed face insulated concrete walls. If you can email me at [email protected]; I will provide contact information for installers, product information, and help with developing a price for your project.

Ask Nudura who are their dealers in the Albany area.  They'll know.
