Just wondering if somebody has experience with AMVIC 3.30. I’m looking at options to install the floor ledger on the wall. All the time I thought that the Simpson Strong Tie, ledger connector works for any ICF but looking at the spec, the connector is designed to work just for up to 2 5/8” foam thickness but Amvic 3.30 has 3.25" thk. foam. Do you have any other idea other than pouring the anchor bolts into the wall and attach the ledger? Thx.

Have you looked thru the Amvic detail drawings?

http://www.amvicsystem.com/resources/cad/

Most of what I see there goes the embeded bolt direction... You could use a corbel ledge with a sill, but this probably means putting the bracing on the outside of the wall during construction...

Is there some reason you don't want to use a j-bolt attached ledger? One way to make this easier might be to cut out a section of the inside block the height of the ledger, and place the ledger with Jbolts into the wall. You could hold the ledger in place in the wall by using scab pieces vertically across the ledger, screwed into the crossties above and below the ledger. This would allow you to pour everything in place so no fitting the ledger over Jbolts afterward, It would also place the ledger in complete contact with the CC(stronger attachment to wall). It would leave the ledger flush with the inner ICF surface so you would probably need nailers between the joists to tie drywall to. It would also possibly mean the ledger would settle vertically with the pour, not sure how prone Amvic is to settling during the pour...

Good luck

Ronmar, great idea with the ledger attached before pouring. Thank you.

Watkins has a hanger for thicker foam. No ledgers, no joist hangers. Cheaper and quicker.

This will be ideal. I just checked the web side but doesn't mention anything about that, so I send an email. I'll post here the response.

IFH4811E is the product that I've used. Hit the American flag and go to the products section down to the number 48 series. Your welcome. I like to use products for this century not the techniques used in the dark ages.
