Good Afternoon, We purchased an existing home built with Arxx ICF. The owners left two rooms unfinished. The first is approximately 4'x20'. The smell of unfinished moldy basement is prevalent. The room is used for the water softener, and to store paint. 1. Can we cover the walls with plastic to seal out some of the moisture? We are going to also paint the floors with concrete sealer. 2. If this permissable with ICF, can I use screws to attach it into the foam, or do I have to use adhesive caulk / glue? Thanks, Karen

I don't think that's a good idea. The problem of moisture you said is coming from the OUTSIDE and you don't address the problem if you just seal it with plastic on the inside. It would create other issues. I would find out why moisture is coming from the outside to the inside room. Fix that problem and then the rest will be OK.
