Hi, I'm curious is there a section in codebook regarding of using icf? I have found something the same on web page of insulspan for their panels, but can not found it for buildblocks icf blocks. Basically, I'm interesting of thickness of cement core, how often I need to put rebars, and what minimum cement core should be on top of the windows opening.

Many people still you a old book called PCA-100. It is a very good code book type information. Google "PCA-100" and download it for free.

Most code books do include ICF building information. ICC writes the code in most areas now, it can be found free but they keep changing the free links and I don't have valid one right now.

Where are you located? In Canada the National Building Code adopted ICF in 2005 edition. This includes reinforcing requirements for above and below grade walls.

I have found that the ICF manufacturers' engineer specs are typically more detailed and carry a higher safety factor than NBC, however.

I just built on the north side of Ann Arbor....let me know if you need any help with contacts/questions.. SevenThreeFour775-9535. ICF is definitely in the Michigan Code Book.

Chapter 3 - Planning (Foam Plastics), Chapter 4 - Foundation, Chapter 6 - Wall, probably others. If you go to major ICF vendor's website there are many documents available for free download. There are design and install guidelines that have charts that show how to do prescriptive design of footings and walls. It is basically the same as what you will find for prescriptive design in the concrete foundation and wall sections of the building codes.
