Can anyone recommend an architect or architects in the Houston area who is familiar with ICF construction? I'd also be interested in an engineering firm as well who is familiar with designing foundations for ICF. Thanks in advance.

Are you converting a drawing to ICF or are you designing from scratch? I am in Michigan so can't help but the question might help others to find the right person for you.

You might want to first find a local ICF supplier and ask them for builders and architects. The ICF supplier might have/know architects also.

Good Luck with your project.

I my humble experience a house turns out much nicer and has a higher resale value if you find a plan you like and convert it to ICF.

There aren't many people that can design and make houses look nice and be functional.

Even if you have an architect do it from scratch it is going to cost a ton in tweaks and changes.

I would find a base plan and convert and tweak that....

Based on my own bad experience, I would definitely recommend an engineer who has previous experience with ICF. I hired an engineer on referral from my architect. The engineer said he could handle designing with ICF. He could not grasp the product and its potentials. As his lack of ability became apparent, he became less and less interested in the project and more and more of a jerk.
