Does anyone have a detail or recommendation for engineered/ cementious vertical siding with batten strips over ICF substrate? LP Smart Side will not warrant if used on ICF. LP recommends 7/16 osb for attachment. anyone used 1x4 furring strips for attachment ? Thanks, JC.

We used HardiBoard panel and battens 16" OC. We used Benjamin Obdyke rain screen between the HardiBoard panel and the ICF EPS exterior insulation. The HardiBoard panel rests on HardiBoard cement trim board fastened into the ICF concrete center core using appropriate length concrete tapcons. SS screws made for cement panel were used to fasten HardiBoard panel to the plastic ICF studs per HardiBoard recommended schedule for ICF. The HardiBoard panel was also fastened to PT wood sill that trusses were fastened. Construction photos may be found on our website.

Sure thing and you are most welcome. I should have added that BOTH the cement panel and ICF block companies can provide you their guidance/recommendations for hanging stuff on ICF. Cement board is not a problem just like drywall.
