Hey all, just installed my front entry door in my 6" core ICF block. I installed it inset 1/2" to be flush with interior drywall and allow full swing. My question now is how do I finish the exterior portion, I've never trimmed out an exterior door let alone one in ICF. What do I use for jamb extensions/brickmould and how do I finish the vinyl siding to all of that? Thanks in advance friends!

Aluminum coil stock from behind the brick mold out, wrap around the corner and lay the J channel on top. Usually the BM has to be ripped to fit the opening. Pretty simple. To keep from using a lot of trim nails on the face of the trim apply silicone caulk on the back and put some bracing against the aluminum until dry. Also you need to put a hem on the edge that goes under the BM. This stiffens the aluminum.

Thanks for the reply! Are you referring to a door that is sized for the depth of the ICF block? My door is intended for use with 2x6 stick frame construction, so it only takes up about half of the 12" deep opening. I'm going to need to do some jamb extensions or something to brickmould and then siding either tucked in behind the BM or into a J channel run along the brickmould. Just have no idea how to do such a thing.
