Hello all you happy people Looking at using the brick ledge as a floor connection. Trusses would be top chord bearing. Does anyone know the exact depth for the trusses to cover the tapered part? I know the form is 16' high + 1"1/2 for the green treated board. Would 18" be enough? Thank you!

I wouldn't do it. Your creating a lot of extra work for yourself. Use a joist hanger like Burmons.

Agreed. Cast in hangers (several options available) offer more versatility in floor elevation placement and most allow for some adjustment when installing joists (ie, hangers can be +/-1" from correct placement in many cases and still allow for accurate floor placement). These hangers may also offer a higher strength rating than a brick ledge form with a more attractive price point and no corbelled ICF section to interfere with bracing installation.

Use the Burmons for ledgers, with a mid bearing truss so the bottom cord is flush with the ledger. A brick ledge adds work and expense, unnecessarily.
