Thinking about trying to get this project done this summer way off grid in Alaska. Would only have a foot of soil on the Litedeck roof and probably build a bush garage over that for a big covered open air space. Just to keep snow and water off. Would have to rent a Marooka to haul the stuff up (a big tracked dump truck) and to help move the dirt during excavation. Soil is about a foot of clay and then all sand below that. And the fun part, mixing the concrete a half yard at a time with our skidder concrete mixer. Couple questions for anybody generous enough to weigh in: 1). Could I get away with using 4" core walls, or 6" or would I have to use at least 8"? I'll get an engineer to bless everything before I order anything, but just trying to get a broad strokes idea. 2) Any idea on the size footers I'd have to pour? I'm assuming at least 2 feet wide and 8 inches minimum. I hope the stars align and we can make this happen. I've always wanted an ICF structure.

Going to need 8" with that soil type. Footing probably 36" by 10"

Was watching a DIY on this not long ago.

Not really sure on code compliance.
