I am planning on putting SIP panels over a timber frame structure.  I am wondering if anyone has any information or where I could find information on wiring between the timber frame and the SIP?  Example, What would be the best way to wire a hanging lamp or fan through the timber frame and into the SIP?  If the wire is run down a groove routed in a purlin followed by T&G  to a SIP wall, how do i keep the installers from running a screw into the wiring during panel installation?

I am building in the Asheville NC area.

Your panels should have chases as well. They would avoid the distance problem you speak of. You can also run wiring along a spline. You could use sheet metal to block nails in your purlin chases, but it would be less expensive and take less time to snap lines indicating where not to nail.
