Does anyone know the viability of installing sips on an icf foundation (crawl space) most below grade. The home will be a single story ranch in North Carolina.

I have seen steel SIPs used for floors or OSB with a aluminum liner for vapor barrier over crawl spaces

Chris I probabaly should have been more specific the icfs would be used as the foundation. The sips would be the wall structure for the house. The floor would be engineered truss. Most of the icfs would be below grade, all but about a foot, and sips from there up.

No problemo! This is a common situation. Some details from Insulspan are here.

Good Luck!

Hi Steve,

Hopefully in the Sept/Oct timeframe, I'll be starting an Insulspan over ICF home in Middle TN.  I've started a "backwards" build doing a stick-built detached garage that has living space above it.  I'll live in that space while contracting the house build.  My wife and I are moving to TN from OH which is why I'm creating some temporary living space.

As stated previously, SIPs over ICFs are no problem at all.  Good luck with your project.
