What if foundation shifts under SIPs?

I've often seen framed buildings that deformed when their foundations settled unevenly.  But, once erected and joined, a SIP skin should be reasonably rigid compared to a framed structure.  What happens to a SIP structure with uneven settling?

 Intuitively, it would seem to result in the shell being either cantilevered or supported at the ends.  And either would seem to place a very high racking stress at the fasteners.  (There are two or three consecutive guesses there!)

Any engineers or architects out there who could say what the effect of uneven settling would be on the loads within the shell?  What would happen to the structure?

Do SIP structures required any extra or unusual footings?

Is there any history of this?

Thanks for any insight you can offer.

Very respectfully,
Larry

Larry;

As a builder have never seen that situation occur with sips. I can tell you that there are no additional footing requirements. I have been told by engineers that footings for steel sips could be designed smaller due to a lighter downward loading. But are usually kept normal sized for wind uplift in Florida

Thanks Chris.

I would assume that the condition arises, so, if there's no history of problems, that would suggest that the loads don't reach failure.

Very respectfully,
Larry
