Hey all,
It's been a few weeks since I posted pics,  I've been working my tail off trying to get ahead of winter.

Here's  a few pics of progress.  The steel roof comes in a week or two, plumbers are almost done, I'm  pulling the radiant heat tubes tomorrow, and the A/C unit is hung in the attic.  And yes, that's 15# felt under the 4" lap.

Looking GOOD!  I like to see the Titanium roofing underlayment.  Man that is some good stuff.  I was wondering if you are going to have a blower door test done to insure the performance of your new house?  I would recommend it.  I would do it after the framing inspection and before you Sheetrock.  That way if you find any leaks you can fix them without any problem.  This is what i recommend to our customers.

How did you attach th fc to the sips panels? I've got a siding install coming on a sip house, and am not convinced of the holding power of nails in the osb.

I used ring shank nails on 12" centers.  It's kind of a test... on my own house.  I've also got fiber cement screws that would  hold for sure, but to tell the truth, I didn't want to drive 12,700 screws.  My siding is a 4" lap, that should help.  I'll keep you updated.

I'd be curious to know how they hold.  My plan was to use stainless rings @ 12" o.c., the siding will be attached over a 6mm plastic furring strips for drainage.  Now that I've been working with the panels for a bit, the OSB and nails have me worried a bit, the OSB don't seem to hold that well.  I'm not wild about driving all those screws either but the siding ending up all over the neiborhood during a big wind or just working loose over the years doesn't seem that apealing either.  I've also thought that laying out the 12" OC to land on the splines, so I'd atleast be nailing into 5/8" ply splines and OSB every 4'......  Place looks great, certainly a wide open site, eh?
