I am planning for a new 3200SF house on hillside,  4-story staggers along the slope.  The foundation and floor system will probably be rigid metal frame on piers (something SE suggested).  The Family room will have 15' high walls and slope ceiling while few other rooms have 12' high ceiling.  The wiring concept is hope to be as flexible and hidden i.e. raceway.  While telecomunication wire could be wireless, but A/V wiring needs to be flexible to avoid future demo.  Any insight on how SIP system fits on floating/rigid metal frame, stagger along slope??? How wiring is done in SIP walls?? are appreciated.  Also, where can I find SIP architectural details??

Hi there, interesting design.
I can provide some insight on your project. With that design, I would consiider using a ductless Air and Heating system. I have put them in two SIP homes I have done.
There are no ducts to worry about and they are much more cost effective in the long run. Each room has a fan, digital thermostat, and condensation line small enough to run with other electrical wiring. Also, if you have any roof spans more than 14', I would use Steel Sips, as they can span up to about 25' without other bearing beams. Steel SIPs are lighter, and more managable to place in the track from a floor elevated off the ground. If you would like more info on your project, please contact me at [email protected]

Starck, Nice looking design.  I have had good luck with Thermocore, the panels designed for the house had the entire wire conduit and window cut outs already designed in the panel’s construction.  Below is the web site, I was helped by Brad.  Good luck!

Thx for the info.  I contacted Thermocore and learned that they are not approved in California.
