What are some  challenges that other subs may have if going with sips. I hear that electricians have a learning curve and what about others.
If just the external (outside) walls and roof are done and then I take over as GC I have concerns that the walls could lose their integerity if my subs miss up.
Bottomline- what should they know or be told by a sip rep during their time here?

I assume I can't put plumbing on an outside wall is that right?

If I need a hole for the "franklin stove" to the outside is that cut on the site or do they do that at the factory?

What should I also expect for the doors and windows. I have a source that will install but will it be framed by the sip crew or is that something i need to make sure my framers do afterwards?
Any other advice pls add

Lisa;

Most plumbing can go on an interior wall or come up from under a cabinet, Studor vents are also advantageous and Island drains work well too(3" drain-no vent required)
The hole for your stove would be in accordance with the mfgs. specs. for framing clearance.
get all your RO dimensions from your door and window supplier and give to whomever is doing the cutting. All cuuting note should be provided by your supplier. If a sub is in doubt they need to check first

My electrician was VERY skeptical.  On the first house I told him I (GC) would do all the cutouts (I did not want them butchering the panels). We built a router jig that screwed to the OSB, took 3 minutes /box. Told him to bid it as if it was stick frame and at the end of rough in, if he thought it was more labor intensive he should hand me a bill for the extra.

The first day the electricians complained because that is what electricians do.  By the end of rough in they agreed they saved time with little or no drilling and this made up for slightly slower wire pulling.
Did not get billed extra!

Very important:  All electrical in exterior walls need to be very well planned in advance.
Don't assume the standard runs at 18" and 44" (or what ever your SIP supplier does) will work.
Also use 2" or 2 1/2" drill bit for top and bottom plates because the wire gets hung up if the holes are not perfectly aligned.
