We are planning to build a SIP framed and roofed house here in central Oklahoma. We would like to communicate with potential SIP experienced contractors in our area. We have been thinking of erecting the walls ourselves, but the roof is out of the question.
Since we are also DIY'ers, we are looking to just have the house "dried in" once we get the plumbing lined out. We will need plumbing and electrical contractors too.
Current thinking is osb SIPs, but steel seems to be lighter, thuis easier to handle.
Current status is: land has been cleared, electric company is in the process of running the service to the building site. We live on-site.
Thanks, Dave

Dave; you are right steel is 1/2 the weight of OSB panels , no crane needed, would be happy to quote |

Davey, If you're considering OSB/EPS SIPs you could contact ACH Foam Technologies (R-Control SIPs) in Denver, Co. They should be able to refer an experienced contractor in your area,
Good luck with your project, whatever system and product that you decide to use |

Dave;
Make sure you get references from builders with specifically SIP experience, you don't want someone learning on your project |

Thanks to all that have responded.
The project is running slow due to the weather. The electric folks are installing new poles to get back to the site, and it has just been too wet for their trucks. Poles are just lying on the ground currently.
Hopefully foundation will begin in 2-3 weeks. We'll see. Davey

Dave, Check out our web site, www.KwikBuildPanels.com We have had a 70 yr old woman and a 71 yr old man stand a 2,800 sq ft home in 4 days (walls only). You sound much younger, it should be less of a problem for you! Take a look! [email protected] |

something to consider weather patterns this time of year are very rainy you may consider a track style trencher for footings a portable generator for interum electrical and a portable pump provider to assist with concrete install i know much of this is relative but if you want or need to get going these are options ,we have had alot of exsp. in delivering jobs with challenging circumstances BBB |

Hi Dave,
Take a look at our site www.kwikbuildpanels.com We have a panel system that you can install yourself, including the roof. No heavy equipment required, basically just a screw gun. Panels weight between 1.5 to 2.5 lbs/sq ft.
Best,
David Kwik-Build Panels |
