The high ribbed standing seam panels are not suitable for residential roof projects. The minor ribbed series are great for residential roof and wall applications but Kingspan only support them as cladding not load bearing main structure. Some independent engineers are able to interpret the product data and use the panels for residential applications. |

Study this detail and you will see the issue. This is how you close off the end of a deep ribbed panel. |

May I refer you to ThermaSave out of Florence, AL you can go to ThermaSaveworldwide.com I don't know why more people don't use them to build in Calif. You can save sooo much money and when there is a earthquake you wont have to worry. They have houses built in Alaska, Japan, New York....all over. check them out they have proof tests for earthquakes, fires, even bullet proof tests on Utube.and you can build any kind of house you want even a mansion. if the stars would use ThermaSave Panels they wouldn't have to worry about loosing their homes / mansions to fires and earthquakes. happy hunting |

no just done a lot of research on trying to build my house cheaper and since I am only planning on building one house in my lifetime I want it to last. They say their panels are rot proof and mildew proof and they have done fire tests and I watched a video where they did a Earthquake test and a u tube video where they did a bullet proof test. Just look up ThermaSave Worldwide.US |

Maybe you should verify with this company how long it will take to get your panels after the order has been accepted. Some companies are slow to deliver and that can impact your building schedule. |

Have you looked into Mag-Board Sips? Mag-Board is mold and mildew resistant and is also fire proof. I have been looking at it for my home. I talked with several companies who have used it and they are very positive about the product. They are not pushing it since they build with OSB typically. I had a long conversation with a rep last week and got a lot of good information from him. He is with Enercept out of SD. I didn't have any problem getting in touch, he answered first time I called. The office gave me his number, they have different reps for different areas so I would call the office and find your rep that way. I also talked to R-Control in Denver about sips they were helpful too. We didn't talk about Mag-Board or concrete but they should be able to laminate with them too. If your planing on using in floor heat ask about the foam floor panels with groves for pex to snap into, sounds like a money saver.

Are the boards code approved and are they US made or Chinese made Mag SIPs? |

The sips are made in the US but most of the board is made in China. There are a few new Mfg. companies starting to make Mag-Board in the US so maybe they can use theirs too. I'm sure the can tell you all about it if you contact them. I've seen several TV show like this new house where they were showing Mag-Board and explaining all of the attributes. The board has been tested and approved in many areas of the country. There are sip panels coming in from China ready made, I would steer clear of them because of quality control. There is a Canadian company making Mag-sips too, not sure where they are. There is a blog name Panel Man that talks about them. |
