so I am posting a recent email I received relevant to MGO SIPs from a participant to that old thread:

I just reviewed my email exchanges with friends in www.greenbuildingtalk.com and found your remarks on MgO boards very correct.
I got this feeling only after I used MgO faced SIP panels to build houses in China myself. Even if we used the MgO boards I trust, we still had to be careful. We pre-drilled the boards before applied screws. We used steel sheer wall to strengthen the structure, and we used wraps to protect steel in contact with the boards, etc.
I am writing to tell you my friend Mr Akyurek is making MgO boards in Turkey to supply for the EU market. If you want to buy MgO boards for SIP sheathings, please contact me and I'll bridge you to him. He is a reliable MgO manufacturer and his products are superb. He is a very knowledgeable man and knows the trade much better than the Chinese manufacturers.
I am associated with many Chinese MgO boards manufacturers. But their problems are inconsistent quality and no defect guarantee.
