I find it extremely DISPARAGING when someone has a different opinion, thought or view that conflicts with yours, you seem to be defensive. Do you treat your customers the same way as you do people on this forum??? You call yourself a contractor (professional). I was under the impression that a forum no matter what the subject was ultimately supposed to be informative to the reader. Your opinions, thought and views are welcomed input, but to ridicule a first timer or anyone for that matter is preposterous. I am not sure what you mean when you write "we" can see right thru you. I am a metal SIP homeowner and only wish I had done more thorough research before I used metal SIPS. To say I am dissatisfied with my home would be wrong, I only wish to convey to the people reading the forum my experiences and MGO may be a better alternative to metal for some people. A forum such as this should be informative, educational and loaded with opinions, thoughts and views.
Thank you and have a blessed day.

Could you post some pictures of the cracking? It's helpful for others to see exactly what happened so they can avoid the same problem.

I am not sure what the person Chris Kavala is trying to achieve with his comments and then is email and phone simply to advertise. He has no idea what he is talking about. He use panels that are made by a refrigeration company in Georgia and are not Structural Panels as he falsely advertises. Yes indeed they are like living in a refrigerator and yes they do indeed make a popping sound. They look horrible and are not at all pleasing. Its just a fad to try and find something cheap to build and for people who nothing about SIPS at all to sucker them into this nonsense. The MGO Board if far better and more practical and they also have building code approval not like this SIPS this man is trying to pass off to people is garbage and not at all practical. They are mostly sold to people in the Caribbean that no nothing about them also. If you put exterior cladding on the metal is is horrible and has many issues. Please remove yourself from this Forum it is NOT ABOUT METAL SIPS FROM REFRIGERATOR MANUFACTURES AS PERMATHERM.NET JUNK YOU ARE MAKING THESE FROM.

Chris has several decades of steel SIP building experience, and has been a big help for me getting steel SIP building started in California.

I can assure everyone he knows his game quite well.

Currently, I am building a 4,300 SF Custom Mexican Hacienda out of steel SIPs near Joshua Tree National monument in California. Seismic zone "E", and in a high risk wild fire zone, harshest CA climate zone.
Before I choose steel SIPs I researched several other types including Mgo SIPs, OSB, and other varieties.

Steel SIPs are made by several companies in the US including permatherm, and this company does have structural and fire test reports. I have read all of them.

I can assure everyone that these panels are hardly a "fad", rather they have been around for a long time, and are the future in my view.
They accomplish a lighter, simpler load bearing structure, leading to lighter less costly foundations, less crane time, easier connections, and less and cheaper skilled labor.
You can also get them up to 25 feet + long, which 2 men can tilt up with a cable on top and a guide below. You can quickly enclose a 2-3 story building.

I have not experienced any issues with finishes. Stucco, wood siding over batons (1x3 rain screen)

As far as the Caribbean- If you had done some homework, you'd know that it's really not all shanties for poor people.
The fact that they have used these panels for housing projects and even schools, fire houses, and medical offices, the Curacao Airport should tell you something - Logistics, tools & equipment, and skilled labor are limited depending on where you are.

You need something that will work and makes practical and financial sense.

So if anything, it should tell you why they choose steel SIPs over other types.
