I found some used Cooler panels, 3" thick 4' wide 8.5' long, They were used for a 10' x 48' cooler. Can these be used for a cabin shell basically the same size with a shed roof? The price is hard to beat, 25 cents a sq ft. I do not know if cooler panels are as structurally sound as metal Sip or if they are identical.

preedy,
these panels may be non-structural, you might be at risk for collapse if the panels do not have any structural capabilities, I would verify the manufacturer and see if they have any span/load charts
I have seen cooler panels mis-used and failed at great expense to the owner. "caveat emptor"

I doubt they are structural. Those are usually installed into a cold box framework structure. They might be useful in a cabin project though, you will just have to build the structure to support the roof and wind loads safely.

Thank you for your response. I was worried they may not be structural, and he does not know the manufacturer. I have more pics they have wood at the ends and 3.5 inches thick. 52 wall panels (4'X8') 24 ceiling panels (4X10.5) for $2000. but does me no good if they are not structural.

Make a walk-in beer cooler for your cabin!
