MGO SIPs nail base remodeling panels can save contractors time and money with the added benifit of making the home more energy efficient. The MGO Remodeling or nail base panel can be attached directly to the existing exterior wall, masonry or wood frame. The MGO panel is then painted for a smooth stucco finish saving the builder countless hours of labor by not having to install wire lath and a traditional stucco finish. Innova Eco Building System in Miami Florida manufactures MGO Nail base panels for walls and Plywood and OSB Nail Base panels for remodeling roofs. javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(5675,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(5676,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(5677,24560,0);

Plywood and OSB nail Base Panels can be used on existing flat and sloped roofs for added R value upgrades to existing structures. The nail base panels can be attached to the existing sheathing and / or trusses without the need to remove the existing sheathing and exposing the home to the elements as is the case with a traditional re-sheathing project. Nail base insulated panels not only insulate the structure, but provide valuable air sealing of the existing structure which leads to increased energy efficiency, better indoor environmental control and air quality. Architects, Designers and building Owners can specify the thickness and density of EPS insulation needed to achieve and / or exceed the applicable energy codes. Increase the R-value approximately 20% more with Neopor® for the same thickness of panel. Nail base insulated panels can be attached to existing or new concrete decks or directly to the existing roof trusses. Attachment is made with appropriate fasteners without removing existing sheathing, saving additional time and money. javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(5678,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(5679,24560,0); javascript:amaf_insertHTML('');amaf_toggleInline(5680,24560,0);

No termites with Innova! All of our structural EPS foam is ASTM approved for burial (subsurface uses) and is treated with Borate to eliminate termites and carpenter ants in the system. Clients have the choice of pressure treated plywood or standard CDX. Any lumber in the system is pressure treated for exterior use.

Have built in Florida for 32 years , any builder knows that PT wood stakes get eaten by termite.
The pressure treated wood slows them down a little
exterior use PT is no good against termites , below grade is better , but I have even seen termites on Louisiana eat below grade PT wood pilings

That is why the EPS is treated with Borate. Borate or interior rated pressure treated wood is the proper choice if you want a green healthy house certification for the project. Any wood in the SIP system is encased in borate treated EPS so there is not issue with termites. Termites need dampness so the borate is just a precaution as our system is nearly airtight and free of moisture in the system.

"Any wood in the SIP system is encased in borate treated EPS so there is not issue with termites."
I do not understand; all of your photos show wood on the outside of the foam. I looked at your web site and saw the same.

Also, from the content of your blog it appears YOU are Innova. Have you read the basic rules for using this web site?
No axe to grind, just would like to see people follow rules.

You should look at the photos again. The first two images are magnesium cement nail base SIP panels over brick and magnesium cement nail base SIP panels over stick frame with plywood sheathing. Nail base panels used for roofing are manufactured with a plywood or OSB skin, depending on local building code requirements. If you have information about the use of nail base panels for remodeling of existing structures for energy efficiency, please post, that is the purpose of forums organized by topic.
