My understanding is that SIPs should be wrapped with roofing felt and not Tyvek. It is less clear to me whether an air space needs to be between the roofing paper and the back surface of siding (probably will be cedar shiplap). If so, and furring strips are used, how does that effect the window and door installations? I've read about other materials that are like a mesh that creates a space. Are those products something that will not effect window and door installations? Is there another way I should be thinking about the issue of air space vs no air space? Thanks.

EdW, If you know that you need furring then you can also wrap the face of the panel with 1x4 flat around the window and door openings and that way the widow/door installation will have the appropriate projection with the siding, you would need to order wider door jambs or extend the jambs yourself in the field
